How an online Hangman round works

Pick one letter at a time. A correct guess reveals every copy of that letter; a miss removes one petal or adds the next part of the classic drawing. Spaces, apostrophes, and hyphens appear from the beginning, so phrases remain readable.

Choose your Hangman difficulty

Easy mode adds breathing room. Medium follows the common six-miss format. Hard cuts the allowance to five and works well when familiar vocabulary has become predictable.

• Learning new spellings. Keep hints on and use easy mode. Say each newly revealed letter aloud.
• A quick solo round works well on medium, especially with mixed categories.
• A tougher table game. Choose hard, then take turns at the same screen without calling out possible answers between guesses.
