Example: _a__ma_ with E, I, O, and U missed finds HANGMAN. The pattern length has to match the answer.
Use Hangman letter coverage wisely
A suggestion marked 72% appears in 72 out of every 100 remaining candidates, when the set is large enough. Repeated copies count once for coverage because one guess reveals them all. When two letters have similar coverage, inspect the actual candidates; one may split them into more informative groups.
The results are ranked by a broad usage weight and then alphabetically. That ordering helps common words surface, though a themed answer can sit much lower. A science round changes what “likely” means.
Review a Hangman round after playing
After a round, rebuild the board and look at which candidates survived each guess. It becomes clear why a high-frequency letter can still be weak in a particular pattern. The tool is also handy for checking whether a custom answer was too obscure for the agreed vocabulary.
